About this coffee
A 2024 great taste award winner, Navio takes its name from the Portuguese word for ship, as an homage to the global coffee trade. The word for this blend is ‘balance’. Brazilian beans give a rich, chocolatey body, which is backed up by a Costa Rican bringing a bright, fruity acidity and a biscuity sweetness.
What ties the blend up is a bean from Papua New Guinea which rounds the flavour off by offering more body and syrupy, dried fruit sweetness. This results in an exceptionally well-rounded coffee, with a rich, chocolate biscuit sweetness and a syrupy, toffee apple acidity. There isn’t much bitterness in the cup at all.
Brew this as an espresso at a simple 1:2, coffee to espresso weight ratio. With 18 grams of coffee in expect 37-40 grams out in over 25 seconds.
