Methodology & citing
- Prices come directly from 248 UK roasters' own listings, refreshed continuously by our crawler; this page recomputes daily. Nothing is sponsored — see how we work.
- Every figure is a median, not a mean — genuine £400+/kg auction lots exist and would distort an average.
- Per-cup assumptions: 18g of beans per espresso, 2g per cup of instant, one pod per pod-machine coffee, and £4.00 for a bought flat white (typical UK high-street price; the one number here that isn't ours).
- Groups are only quoted when the sample is big enough to mean something (roasts ≥30 coffees, origins ≥8, regions ≥12).
- The trend chart is built from a daily snapshot of this same median, stored from the day we started tracking — so it grows more useful over time and can never be back-dated.
