About this coffee

The coffee plant is said to have been first discovered in Ethiopia in the 9th century, when people simply chewed the berries. However, it was not until the 15th century that merchants from across the Red Sea, at the Yemeni port of Mokha, decided to brew the coffee and produce a drink out of it to help mystics stay awake during the night for prayers and meditation.
