About this coffee
The Mogiana region, located along the border between São Paulo and Minas Gerais, is one of Brazil’s most historic and celebrated coffee-producing areas. Its well-known subregion, Alta Mogiana, is characterized by rolling hills, broad plateaus, and nutrient-rich red soils — all of which create an ideal environment for growing high-quality Arabica coffees.
With elevations typically ranging from 900 to 1,200 meters, Mogiana’s climate and altitude contribute to coffees that are naturally sweet, full-bodied, and balanced in acidity. Producers in this area commonly cultivate varieties like Mundo Novo, Catuai, and Bourbon, prized for their dependable yields and their classic flavor profiles featuring sweetness, chocolate, and nutty undertones.
Many farms in Mogiana remain small to medium in size and are often family-operated, with knowledge and cultivation practices passed down through generations. This deep agricultural heritage, combined with the region’s natural advantages, results in coffees that are both consistently high-quality and distinctly expressive of the traditional Brazilian terroir.
