About this coffee

Sotero Cano’s 1.8 hectare farm, Los Nisperos, is found in San Antonio Huista in the mountainous Huehuetenango region, renowned for its rugged terrain, high elevations and distinctive washed coffees. The farm is one of a few pockets of land Sotero owns dedicated to coffee farming, which he runs alongside his 3 sons Jogli, Edin and Bayron. He has owned the land for decades, but only turned his hand to coffee farming around 30 years ago after hearing that coffee could provide a reliable livelihood. Today, Sotero remains confident about the future of coffee farming, believing that those who are willing to continue learning and innovating will thrive.
