About this coffee
Back in!! Another current favourite (swear we say that about loads of our coffees)! Roasted at a medium this is surprisingly bright for a coffee from PNG, but a really sweet and balanced acidity that gets overwhelmed quickly by a deliciously rich body. There are notes of dried stone fruits, raisins and a honey-like finish. Top draw, easy drinker that is the coffee we're taking home with us at the moment.
In 1964, John Coleman visited Papua New Guinea and fell in love with the Waghi Valley. He applied for an Agricultural Lease via the PNG government and was granted a portion of land that would become Madan Estate. The name refers to a small hill located within the farmland. After purchasing the land, Coleman went to work and drained the land and built roads to pave the way for coffee production. During this hand-construction, various archaeological relics were found and preserved. This is a historical farm, and thanks to the work of its founders, these artefacts were saved from natural decay.
