What sets our Colombia Huila Decaf apart is the Ethyl Acetate (E.A.) decaffeination process, performed in Colombia. This natural method uses a solvent derived from fermented sugar to gently remove caffeine while maintaining the coffee's unique flavor profile.
The process involves soaking the green coffee beans in a water and ethyl acetate bath. The E.A. bonds with chlorogenic acid salts, extracting the caffeine. The coffee is then steamed at low pressure to eliminate any E.A. traces, leaving a product that’s 99.7-99.9% caffeine-free. The result?
