    About this coffee

August takes us to the foothills of Uganda's Rwenzori Mountains—known as the "Mountains of the Moon"—where volcanic soils, high elevations and a unique microclimate produce coffees with remarkable sweetness, vibrant acidity and expressive fruit character.

This lot undergoes Agri Evolve's signature extended fermentation process. Freshly harvested cherries are sealed in 145kg barrels for four days before being transferred to raised drying beds, where they're turned regularly to ensure slow, even drying. The result is a coffee with vivid fruit character, layered sweetness and exceptional clarity.

Founded in 2016, Agri Evolve was established to unlock the potential of coffee grown throughout the region. While local farmers were producing exceptional cherries, limited access to quality processing and low prices from middlemen meant much of that potential went unrealised. By investing in processing infrastructure, paying sustainable prices and building long-term relationships with producers, Agri Evolve has helped transform coffee production across the Rwenzori's and our friends at Omwani help bring that coffee to us in Belfast.
