About this coffee
We are thrilled to introduce our newest arrival, a Caturra Decaf from the renowned Finca Nogales in Huila, Colombia.
Cultivated in the highlands of Pitalito, these Caturra cherries undergo a ground breaking, natural solvent decaffeination process. Instead of using chemicals or shipping the beans to off site processing facilities, the Hernández family uses a natural ethyl acetate (EA) solvent from the coffee's own fermented pulp and mucilage. This removes the caffeine while preserving the coffee's natural sweetness.
When we visited Finca Los Nogales in 2025, we saw first hand exactly why the Hernández family are so well renowned as producers. We walked the farm with head of coffee Anibal and sales manager Eva, who showed their dedication to innovation in agronomy. We saw their on site microbiology laboratory where they map out their fermentation cycles and their biodiverse compost made from natural by products from the farm.
