About this coffee
Region: Yirgacheffe Varietals: Heirloom Altitude: 2150-2250 masl Process: Natural Tasting Notes: mango, pineapple
This lot comes from farmers in the Halo Beriti kebele of Gedeb, Yirgacheffe, where farms sit at 2150–2250 masl. After harvest, cherries are purchased locally and processed at Ephtah Coffee’s 3.5-hectare site in Lalesa. Cherries are sorted, floated, and dried on African raised beds for 12–15 days.
The coffee consists of indigenous heirloom varieties and is naturally processed with no additional fermentation. Harvest runs from October to early January, during which Ephtah employs about 15 permanent and up to 250 seasonal workers. The site is shaded by false banana trees (Enset), supporting soil health and biodiversity.
